Common terms
Page: A specific section of your website that a visitor sees. A website can have several pages or only a few. Some websites only have one page which is very, very long.
Page Title: The text at the top of a page. A website visitor can see it on the page. He will most likely see it in the address bar. He will most likely see it in the website menu. It will be noticed by search engines. This is a very important element of the website that requires thought and planning.
Homepage: the "landing page" of the website - the first page a visitor to the website sees. Your domain name will bring them directly to this page.
Menu: A guide with clickable links that helps a website visitor see what's on your website and move easily between pages. It is used to put your pages into categories and organize them in a certain order.
Menu Item: A single menu item. A link or button that identifies a page to your visitor; it may not be a page but a link that allows you to group sub-pages...
Wildfire System Words
Multimedia element: an audio file or a video file on your website.
Play/jouer: Link that lets you listen to an audio file or watch a video file directly on a website.
Download: A link that allows you to save a file to your device for later use.
Upload: you will have to upload files from your device to our server so that they can be used in your site.
Publishing Language: The language of the community you serve with your website. The media elements you present on your website are (almost) always in the language of publication.
Navigation language: a language that your visitors might read when looking for information on your website. The publication language is a navigation language, and you can have other navigation languages (languages widely used in your region).
Screen: A specific part of the Wildfire website building system that you, the website manager, see when creating and editing your website. These screens are not seen by website visitors.
